Saharan Dust

Saharan Dust... Comes in from Africa.  See the grey skies and just the whisps of clouds...

The grey and the haze is called Saharan Dust.  Sure enough, it is dust blown into the air, and raised miles into the atmosphere because of the hot desert temperatures.  It is then carried across the ocean and doesn't settle till we get a good rain.

It is not pretty, and we don't have those pretty blue skies, but it is a good thing.  It blocks the sun, which cools the ocean, which helps prevent hurricanes.

Stuff I am learning.
